Dream Stream (Charlie Meyers SWA)

General Overview

Spring conditions are beginning to present themselves on the Dream Stream! Blue Winged Olive and Midge lifecycle activity will be the major drivers of productivity until Caddis show up later in the Spring. We have seen a handful of lake fish on the lower end of the system, however nothing crazy on that front yet. As we enter the spawning window for the rainbows/ cuttbows on this section...please be aware of redds and spawning activity.

Stream Conditions

Flowrate above Elevenmile Reservoir: 128 CFS

Clarity: Clear

Suggested Methods

Its all BWO and Midges until Caddis show up later in the Spring Be prepared for technical nymphing for much of your day, but be prepared with a dry fly rod for those BWO and Midge hatches...and don't be a opposed to throwing a streamer with spawning fish in the system. In other words, be prepared with the full lifecycle of the Midge and BWO...in small sizes. Never a bad idea to throw an attractor nymph here and there, so keep a leech or egg handy as well.

Spinney Mountain Ranch (Above Spinney Reservoir)

General Overview

Not enough water in this section to clear ice formation in the Early Spring. Look elsewhere until Springtime.
